I just don't like it when people lie, and claim that their pet is a "comfort" animal.
I could claim that my pet tarantula, or pet boa constrictor is a "comfort" animal, and take it with me everywhere.
Btw, I have neither.
I just don't like it when people abuse a system that was set up to help people.
I think that it's only a matter of time before one of these liars has their pet attack an innocent person.

You didn't read your own line?
Yes, they are covered by the Americans With Disabilities Act. I provided you with the laws and ADA reference, too bad you ignored them.
You say you are a nurse. I find it hard to believe you don't know what a service dog is.
@Noel7@151949 Her highlighted line in red is referring to the dogs that are not service dogs - and THOSE dogs are indeed not covered by the ADA. She is referring to PETS - service dogs are not pets in the general sense and you are advised not to treat them as such by their owners.
I've already posted my disdain for yet another thread about service dogs but her above line was misinterpreted.

I disagree, and she has made that clear on more than one post here.

I see big dogs at Pet Smart and expect that. Quite a few of the Stores Meant For Pets allow pets in them and that makes sense.
What I see and am referring to are the little toy breeds dressed in clothes, have their nails painted, maybe have special hair coloring, bejeweled and decorated being carried in the mall, salons, restaurants:
*under the arm like a purse
*Popping out of a purse
*eating off the table from a plate with the paws on the table
*sitting on the laps during the meal
*sticking out of a backpack
Have the image? These are NOT service dogs but they're all over the place. There is one woman who, for many years, I would see at Walmart riding in the scooter with one in the basket and one on her lap. They are not service dogs, they are "MY SWEETIES AND THEY GO EVERYWHERE WITH ME!". Words she shouted at an employee who told her they could not be in the store and definitely NOT eating in the basket as she tooled around. I didn't see her after that.

@willomenia wrote:moonchilde you are so wrong! they do come straight from work, and no' there might not be blood on them, but there are other professions that wear scrubs, and besides, even a receptionist is exposed to germs seeing that not just healthy people visit a doctor's office. I do not believe they change into clean scrubs, and if they change into street clothes how I would I know they are in the medical profession? I'm not ragging on these people, just making an observation.
Although you are certainly entitled to it, your opinion and observations are incorrect.
How do you "know" that anyone you see in scrubs must have "extra" germs just rolling off them? How do you "know" that everyone you see wearing scrubs has been wearing the same scrubs all day *while dealing with open wounds and infectious material*, thus passing it hither and yon?
Yes, there ARE other professions where people wear scrubs - which was my point. Why assume that EVERYONE you see wearing scrubs is "germy?"
A receptionist wearing scrubs is no more germ-riddled than the person in the office sitting next to them doing the same work and wearing street clothes, or another patient sitting next to you in a waiting room. The scrubs don't arrive with extra germs built in.
It sounds as if you have a germ-phobia/scrubs-phobia and nothing will convince you otherwise. Hopefully it only affects you.

The point being, any and every dog does not need to be allowed anywhere and everywhere their owner wants to take them, just because they want to take them and for no other reason.

Just got back from grocery shopping; no dogs but a very rude, grumpy old man who made sure everyone knew he felt inconvenienced. Lol

Paris Hilton started that several years ago. I remember all the photos of her and various little dogs in her tote bag.

I don't ever see anyone toting a dog around as a fashion accessory.
Maybe I just don't live in that kind of place.
No, I'm pretty certain I don't live in that kind of place.

@Noel7, I had been thinking last night - Paris Hilton did indeed start the whole thing of pocket dogs that I can take anywhere because I want to and don't you dare tell me I can't, I'm SPECIAL and you "need to" accommodate meeee or I'll make a big stink and make so sooooooo sorry!
So whether they know it or not, most of these women toting Boopsie around in their totes and demanding their dog's presence EVERYWHERE are behaving exactly like a woman everyone "loves to hate", complete with entitled temper tantrums when crossed.
