Doggie Doors

About to build a porch on my patio. Thinking about adding a doggie door that opens out to an area that my pup can run safely without being able to chase the wildlife. My master plan is to keep my chihuahua and her new brother safe from their own bad choices. Any advice for door, area to play in (fence) whatever. This is only for recreation and for bathroom time NOT to live in 24-7.
