Dog shedding terribly

In March we got a pug-chihuahua mix from a local shelter. She is very cute and we love her but she sheds like crazy. Every day since we got her she leaves hair on furniture, floors everywhere. We brush her every day. Does anyone have a pug or any dog that has found a remedy for shedding?
