My dog knew when I was about to leave for work.  When I went to him as he laid on the bed, so I could tell him good-bye, he just growled at me and beared his teeth, as if to say, "You BAD lady!  You're LEAVING me again!"  Yet, every single time I arrived back home, he was thrilled to see me. He was truly a very loving and loyal dog.  As I recall, he never left me any "gifts" on the floor, mad at me for being gone all day.
