That is stupid packaging.
Everyone should know, and should be taught, chocolate is NOT for dogs.
The only saving grace here is that these are milk chocolate and, as such, not as toxic to pets.
I'd suggest writing to both QVC and Hebert, the maker of the bars, to let them know these dog pictures are inappropriate at best and dangerous at worst.

Agreed! And for those that do know, some could look at this packaging, and think this chocolate had somehow been made safe for dogs to eat.

Here's what I just wrote to the Hebert Company:

@tends2dogswrote:@Kat 13 What did customer service say?
Needless to say, not EVERYONE knows about the dangers of chocolate for dogs.
If there is a MOD reading this, can you report this or do something about changing the pic, or at least putting in a disclaimer?
šWhen I called Customer Service, the woman could not see the picture on the item, only
the item description. She had no opinion but said she would report my concern.š©

@Lisa now in AZwrote:Even if there is an adult who may know this, they may leave the candy bars out and a child may see them and assume it is OK for the dog. As someone said earlier, there are all kinds of cakes and candy that are MADE FOR DOGS that have carob and other things that are dog-safe that a small child would not know.
As cute as the pictures may be, this is a horrible marketing FAIL and should go back to the company. Was this offered on air? Looking at the price, I would be surprised if it was on a live show, since there wouldn't be that much profit on it. Hopefully, it is one of the many items that are online, but not part of a program.
š©I spotted this item this morning about 8:00am in the "What's New" on QVC .com
šI immediately called Customer Service to report it as dangerous..

I Just called QVC Customer Service to report the pictures of Dogs
on item number M117076.
It looks as if those Chocolate Bars are treats for DOGS !!!!
I would hate to be the person that purchased that Item thinking the bars were
cute and for dogs, not knowing that Chocolate is poisonous to dogs, and feeds
their dog pieces of the bars as treats !!!!!
What do you think ???? What is your opinion ???
š©One other thing I didn't mention besides the pictures is...
....The Wording.... EAT....PLAY....LOVE....!!!!!
What the heck do those words have to do with Chocolate Bars??
Those words really make these bars look as if these bars are
made of dog chocolate, (whatever that may be) and formed
into what looks like a human

It has come to my attention that your company provides the online retailer QVC with chocolate bars depicting a puppy's picture on each bar.I trust you are fully aware that chocolate is highly toxic to dogs.Using pictures of dogs will surely lead to an unfortunate accident and even the death of someone's loved pet.Knowing this, I urge you to replace those wrappers with something that has nothing to do with pets. Please consider a recall as well. These wrappers are inappropriate at best and dangerous at worst. With thanks and praise for responsible pet care,
Feel free to use some or all of my wording in your own letter to the chocolate bar company that I just emailed to them today after your notice to us. Thanks for letting us know.

not funny at all............. I guess you do not love a dog!!!
I love my dog very much...I guess you do not have a sense of humor.
OMG Sense of humor....NO , not when a tragic accident is waiting to happen here! Someone may not know Choc is toxic to dogs and may actually think this is a dog treat or even if they do not think that ,they may think it is ok to give it to their dog....WOW, I really doubt you are much of a dog lover!!!!
BTW............there are many, many people that do not know Choc is toxic to dogs!
@MalteseMomma- I think you're overreacting here. Of course, every responsible dog owner knows about the dangers of them eating chocolate. I think @TenderMercies was using sarcasm in her comment to expose how outrageous the chocolate candybar design is. There's no need to lash out at her.

What a weird way to market chocolate bars. I would be real concerned a child or someone watching your pet would think itās a dog treat. Why would you put puppies on chocolate when itās poisonous. Very irresponsible.
