I've been feeding our 2 year old maltipoo Wellness Small Breed Super 5 Dry mixed with the same wet since we got her with no problems.
In the past few days Wellness voluntarily recalled their Super 5 Large Breed Puppy dry due to possible salmonella contamination at the manufacturing plant.
My dog began having terrible diarrhea on fri night, and when I took her to the vet on Sat they said she was dehydrated and needed to be on iv with antibiotics until Monday.
We just got her back today and they said it was definitely related to something she ate but couldn't exactly say it was salmonella or e-coli. She is still on antibiotics, and was given a gentle formula food to eat for the next week or so.
Now, I don't know for sure that the wellness caused this, but I posted this on their FB page and two people replied that they had the same problem with their dogs on the same formula I was using (which has not been recalled). This makes me very leery of continuing with wellness, and I'd really appreciate any alternatives, preferably made in USA. Thx.
