I myself was “behind” on Christmas this year and it actually felt like it might as well been another day in September on Christmas Eve-the evening of our family gathering. My Aunt and cousin also said the same thing, but in different conversations!! And I thought I was the ONLY one feeling like Christmas just snuck up to quickly this year and couldn’t get in The Mood. I had my tree put up before Thanksgiving for the last 2 years and I was able to relax and enjoy the Holiday/Christmas season. This year I was wrapping presents up until the hour before the family gathering! I think there is a lot of factors in the Christmas SPIRIT not being felt by many this year. There is a lot of negative circumstances going on. There are a lot of people who have newer life circumstances this year-like high debt, sickness, and concentrating on the things of the world and less on Christ. A good question…Which came first? Christ/Jesus or Christmas? (The Christmas we know now). Basically, I found that if I could “have my Christmas decorating and deep cleaning finished BEFORE Thanksgiving (which seems to start the whole Holiday season) then I could then be “calmer” and settle into the holiday spirit. I hope that we all can live like it is Christmas everyday and be kind, at peace, giving, patient, loving, and quiet to hear and soak in the Spirit. Happy New Year!!
