I don't know. It occurred to me that Mrs. Guthrie may not have survived at the very time it happened. Either a medical event happened or her life was immediately intentionally taken. That her body was taken from the house to hide evidence or to fake a kidnapping.
I hope I'm wrong.

When I saw all the drops of blood at the front entrance way. I thought that she was injured and bleeding as she was taken from the house. They seemed to be big drops of blood.

Would not be surprised if she did not survive the kidnapping. That is why there is silence.

And depending on your demographics you may not even be a blip on any radar at all. Sad. I'm thinking of all the missing indigenous females.

Re: Does this Sound Familiar?

@Kachina624 So far it doesn't seem too similar but this kidnapping of Nancy Guthrie is really a mystery.  Why would someone kidnapp an 84 year old woman unless they wanted money?....or maybe it was something to do with revenge?

As for the Lindburgh kidnapping one similar aspect was the isolated area.  At the Gunthie house it is in a "no light zone" where there are no street lights and homes are spread out far apart. They said it gets pitch dark there.

The Lindburgh house is located in a very rural road in Hopewell, NJ.  It's still very rural with only a few homes & properties in the immediate area.  It also gets pitch dark there.

My son worked for a company called Groundswell Design when he graduated from college.  When he first started the owners both lived and had their company in a property literally across the road from the Lindburgh house.

I think that house and the old Lindburgh house which is now owned by the state of NJ were the only homes right in that very quiet area.

I hope Nancy is found alive and soon!  It's just heartbreaking and I can't imagine what her family is going through.

Re: Does this Sound Familiar?

@Kachina624 - My one uncle and his family lived in Flemington, NJ, near where this took place. DD and I were there a few years ago, and we ran into a teacher who knew A LOT about that case. After listening to her, I started reading about it.

I do not think Bruno Hauptmann was guilty. His wife died proclaiming his innocence not too long ago. I think Mr. Hauptmann was set up, and the real kidnappers/killers got away with it.

I understand the house is now a private school.

I hope Mrs. Guthrie is OK, and can come home to her family.

@Desertdi

It's shocking how often that kind of thing happens and no one is looking for them either.  Usually cases like that are solved when human remains are found by accident.

I agree with others who commented that there seems to be very few similarities....as I see it.

Re: Does this Sound Familiar?

It sounds like this kidnapping was well thought out.  I have actually thought the same thing -- that maybe the kidnappers did not expect this kind of coverage and things are not going according to their plans.  Very scary.
