Re: Does anyone use a password manager?

When I set up a new account, I do a "print Screen" and past it into a document.  Microsoft Word or Windows Wordpad (every Windows computer has it) and put them into a folder with subfolders.  Works great and it is free.  Need some skills but worth it to learn.

I have the Password folder on a thumb drive...just in case!

I'm the password manager, I write my passwords in an address book.

Lol that's what I do, I log them on paper.  Not sure I would want my passwords stored on line.  I have never heard of a password manager.  I guess I am the password manager lol.  A lot easier.

@MamaWick

Just about any browser has a password manager built in, so there's no need to download and set one up. I use Firefox. I don't store any passwords for things like banking, insurance, credit cards, etc. The passwords I have saved aren't stored online, they're just in the browser on my computers.

If you have your passwords written down...  Consider taking a picture or scanning them and saving on a thumb drive.

If you don't have a computer, maybe a friend has one and will do it for you.

Re: Does anyone use a password manager?

@MamaWick Sorry! I've been away and missed your question.  Yes Lastpass is easy to use. You create a master password for the Lastpass account (don't lose it!!!) and then every time you are at a website account that requires a password Lastpass will ask you if you want to save it. Say yes and it does. If you have auto fill on then it will fill in that information when you revisit the site. It sometimes asks to send you a code first to verify your ID. That's a great extra security feature. You can also go into lastpass and search for your website and launch it from there. Lastpass will then log in for you. Lots of other features if you want to get fancy but I just use the basics. Oh Lastpass will generate (if you want) a random password sequence that no one could guess. It will warn you if you are using the same password for multiple accounts (never a good idea).

I feel much more secure online now that I have Lastpass.

Another vote for Google password manager!

I use Google for everything.  I find it very easy to use.

I don't use any password. manager since I was told they are easily breach. I keep mine minxed up in my phone contact list.  HAve been really frustrated lately with Q telling me I have to set a new password; they definitely need to upgrade their IT.
