Does anyone use a French press coffee maker?

I ordered one from Amazon and am excited to try it. It is the Bodum Brazil 12 cup. If you have one, is there any info one needs to make it work correctly? I'm sure it comes with instructions and it even shows how to use one on the amazon website. But those with experience might have some other info that would be helpful.

We have an old stainless Presto perculator we got out the other day and have been using. It's fun I think to try different things. I guess we've had this coffee pot for over 40 years and still perking along. LOL And still looks almost like new but we do take care of our things. We were using a drip and liked it OK. Just hoping the french press will be a good choice.
