Does anyone live in Santa Fe, NM or is familiar with the area?

My aunt is retiring and thinking of moving to Santa Fe. She visited there once about 4 years ago and fell in love with the area. She paints and makes pottery so she wants a community where she can meet other artists. She will probably invest in a small condo, 1 or 2 bedroom. If anyone has any advice about living there she would really appreciate it. Pros/cons, what neighborhoods are good to live in, expenses to consider (taxes, cost of living...).

I told her I would post her question here for her and she can check for replies.
