I can't think of who that would be. there was a bit of a nic similarity and we haven't heard from emma in a long time....was just curious.

Yes, pant stretchers. I remember my mother using them, so I bought two pairs. Before I retired, I wore Dockers to work and these really eliminated a lot of ironing. I'll still occasionally use them with my jeans.

Well, my mom didn't actually s-t-r-e-t-c-h my dad's Levi's. She called them stretchers, but they were used to help dry the Levis as wrinkle-free as possible. We had no dryer other than the clothes line out in the back. The pants were pulled on to the "stretchers" to basically stretch out the wrinkles as they dried...not change the size of the pants.
My dad (a farmer) would buy a new pair of Levis back in the '50s & 60s, and the style he wore was not pre-shrunk...they were always a bit too large. So he'd put them on and go get in the irrigation ditch and completely soak them while on (this was during the summer), and then let them dry on him and they'd fit perfectly.
