Re: Does anyone know of Charities

Habitat for Humanity picked up a dining room hutch, table and 6 dining room chairs up from us two years ago. They do need to be in sellable shape as they sell them in their stores.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

Salvation Army

I can CONFIRM THIS, I just called the salvation army today to give away a black leather section.  They will be coming and the representative send they send a larger truck for furniture items.

The salvation army does A LOT of good work so I always donate to them.

Re: Does anyone know of Charities

There must be different rules for these charities, in different areas, because every one mentioned here told us they didn't do pick-ups at all.

I hope the OP finds somebody!  Smiley Happy

Re: Does anyone know of Charities

Have you checked local charities, churches with a thrift store.

We have a local charity here that will take anything & have their own trucks.

In fact I believe there are 2, but that's no help for you.

Ask around locally, look at Craigslist etc.

Re: Does anyone know of Charities

Thanks, Jamma, for this great topic.  We have had a lot of difficulty in the past getting rid of furniture, all of it in good, useable condition.  I And thanks to everyone for their suggestions.

One of the churhes in our area...their mission is the homeless....you might make a couple of calls to local churches, they might be able to help you.

The organization in my area has a warehouse where they store and distribute  the furniture.

Re: Does anyone know of Charities

In my area, St. Vincent DePaul picks up furniture and donates to homeless or needy families. Worth a try.
