Re: Does anyone know of Charities

If you have a Habitat for Humanity Restore in your area, they take furniture, appliances, home decor, even books. I'd also check out to see if any churches would take it as part of a furniture ministery.

@Jamma  Is there a program in your area for transitioning homeless families?  The one in my area is always looking for furniture and will pick up the large pieces.

I'll see if I can find out about that.

Thanks

I'd try Habitat for humanity. They furnish or semi furnish those homes they build. IDK if they take upholstered furniture though.

They were not interested.  Thanks

If you just want to get rid of it and don't care about the tax deduction, you could try Freecycle.

They just picked up a full sized upholstered couch and oversize stuffed chair and ottoman from us last week. They do need to be in good condition.

In my area I belong to a "free don't put in the trash" fb group. If you have something you no longer need you post it and most times someone comes to get it. You could also post pictures on your facebook page....maybe someone on your fb page would like it.

We had a tv we wanted to get rid of and we put it on our curb with a sign 'Free, help yourself" and it was gone within an hour.
