Does anyone here have a mechanic friend?

I can't find one. My car is making a howling sound on the right front passenger side when backing up in the morning. A mechanic checked it and he could not find anything. I spent close to $400 on other things that might have been necessary maintenance. It is not possible to go to these places without spending so much money as they attack you from all sides trying to get you to do all kinds of things.

What could be causing this noise?
