When we are at home in Florida our news is quite simple. The crime section takes about 10min and the rest of the news is events happening around our area. However, when we are in Pittsburgh all we hear on the news are sex crimes and murders and politics. I am so tired of it we hardly turn the news on at all. At home we listen to the news while we have dinner - if we did that here in Pitts. we would certainly get indigestion. Also here in Pa almost all the ads on TV this time of year are political but down in Florida we actually also hear the normal ads for companies and products. We are going home soon - I'm anxious to go. As election day approaches this will only get worse up here as they are really fighting for Pa. In Florida we see mostly billboards and signs along the roadsides.

Me too! I came inside to watch our local news back even before I started school in 1968. I watched the war coverage and the Pres. election and all is as clear as a bell. My Mom was horrified over who my choice was when I voted in our mock election in my first grade class in '68. I was able to convert her a few years later.
I loved history, politics, and current events and still do!!!!! Never get tired of it local to national.

@SeaMaiden - I agree. The best reality show on TV.

I will be glad when it's over.
It is true that some channels are reporting nothing but politics. I tuned in the other day to find out about the earthquake in Italy but CNN kept running the same political bit over and over.

The one thing I am angry about is Sirius replaced the 6-7 a.m. hour of "Morning Joe" with a Chris Matthews rerun. Now, satellite radio joins MJ at 7 a.m. I miss hearing that first hour on my ride in to work.

@sashamatthews, I may be wrong but I believe the last hour of morning is a rehash of what was discussed earlier in the morning.

The consequences are real and serious, and nothing to joke about.

@SaRina That is why I vote and am so for getting young and old to follow what is going on in the political world and stay informed! Do not turn the sound off...turn it UP. Does not mean you can not enjoy it serious as it may be. It is interactive Reality TV.....watch, listen ...VOTE!

I tell everyone besides going to vote in every election also not be a Sound Bite Voter. You must research and educate yourself and just getting it from the ads will not do it.

I used to watch a lot of Fox News during prime time to follow politics and current events. I don't do that much lately. I get my news from the Internet and watch more restful shows than all the fighting on the cable networks. I just discovered The Big Bang Theory in reruns (I never watch the networks, so I missed it). Plus I like Chopped on the Food Network and shows on Bravo.
