Dang, only just learned about a week or so ago how to use the quote function. Can't win.

I was just about to post that maybe some posters don't know how to quote, @MildredM

I sometimes agree, that is off-putting.  But whatever!  We all need a little bit of interaction in our lives and usally whatever is being said is not earth shattering (though important, of course) and I just skip it.

Long threads, quotes inside of quotes, threads started to tell another poster to check her/his email, (we get it; you're RL buds), I tend to skip!

Because I skip certain threads, does not mean they should not exist. I am not the board police.

I think quoting is great!  It gives context to what you were thinking when you post.

It's the quote upon quote, upon quote ad infinitum, for multiple conversational responses, that can get very tiring, very quickly.

I am soo not a fan of a thread with comments that keep getting added on to!

Hope you know what I mean, its hard to explain.

I never do that and cant stand to go thru all of it to see comments.  I always start a new comment without all the added stuff.

Might just be me that is annoyed by it LOL.

Anyone remember "Pancake"........I don't come on here often, but back in the day when I did, that thing would have reached around the world!

Re: Does anyone agree about long threads

Some threads have posts with so many quoted responses that the words fade to white.

And all the quote boxes remind me of Super Spirograph.

I usually just cut out what I want if I want to respond to something in all those boxes.

JMHO ----But its easier to follow a conversation when you quote a specific post that you are replying to----  I HATE those that have a @posters name and then respond with a few words and you have no idea what the conversation was.... you have go back through all the posts to find the author to figure what they were even talking about!!!---it kind of causes a break in the flow of the conversation and I pass those by and tend to not respond to those folks...

This is so true @Spurt .  The post you are responding to needs to be included - always.

She's talking about when pages of quotes are copied and you have to go through all of them to find the new post.  She's not talking about long threads @KatieB .
