I adore tapioca and rice pudding. I was a sick little kid and needed to put on some weight to have my tonsils out, Mom made tapioca and jello with fruit in it to get me to eat. Nix on the jello but I love tapioca yummo.

I do too.
NJ diners are often times famous for their rice pudding.

I can do rice pudding but not too often. Cannot eat plain jello, has to be whipped or fruit mixed in it.
I remember during the 50s and 60s when it seemed like every meal had a jello salad (usually made in a mold) that had either fruit or veggies in it.

DH loves the jello ribbon salad, it makes me shudder.

tapioca.
It feels like there are little bug eggs in it.
Minky, there's heaven in the taste! It was my childhood favorite dessert, my mom made it so pillowy fluffy. I bought a box recently but haven't made any in years. "Nasty" LOL

I'm tripping down memory lane here! I loved banana Junket when I was a kid. Also loved chocolate Tapioca.
I think I remember my grandmother drinking Postum. She let me taste it once. Once was enough.

re nasty tapioca!
My husband loves it but I buy it pre-made. I think if my early memory serves me correctly, I was given tapioca as a child thinking it was vanilla pudding. When I tasted the little whatever they are I thought there was something in it.
Scarred me for life.
Just like as a small child, my grandma cracked a fresh egg into an iron skillet (she had a farm and lots of chickens.) When the egg landed perfectly she said,
Well, Susie, looks like the chicken plopped that egg right into the skillet.
Have not eaten a fried egg since - about 60 years.

Another thing I hate, those translucent noodle strands.
They look like tapeworms or something.
