@Sassycoco It really was an easy, affordable, beautiful way to decorate your home back then!😊 I always received many compliments.😄 I eventually moved on to Pier 1 and the like, but they will always be my first love!❤😁

Little late to the party (pun intended).  Oh my, such wonderful memories of parties on top of parties.  Went to all of them and hosted all of them.  Still have Home Interior items that have been with me from the 70's until now.  Also have great Tupperware items that I use every day.  One of the lettuce keepers I use for dry pet food. They stand the test of time.

I was a Mary Kay consultant for years and travelled many miles showing and selling the products. I had a blue parakeet named Pinky Bird and his first words were "thank you very much."  He was repeating the end of my telephone sales calls.

Yes.  I didn't go to but a couple but the catalog would circulate around where I worked and I bought quite a few things.  It was a nice way to purchase a few new decorative items for the home without spending a fortune.

Yes, Longaberger baskets were a thing in my area....I attended many of those parties...Pampered chef was another, but I am not a fan of their products.

I do remember them. Although I was not a fan I did purchase a ginger jar at one. It's funny to see this thread because I thought about that jar just a few days ago.

I also remember attending a party that sold crystal, I have 4 cordial glasses that I purchased and of course never used.

No. Maybe I wasn’t old enough to notice. (High school, college)

I remember Tupperware and something with candles…

I used to be a people pleaser and had a difficult time saying "no". I was uncomfortable when family/friends became reps and would ask me to host a party. So I had to clean my house, go grocery shopping, make appetizers to be served with wine all for a small percentage off product, based on sales of course.

I did attend a Silpada party once and have a stacking ring that is a quality piece and I still like it. I just don't wear silver jewelry any longer.

My friend hosted a "Sarah Coventry"

jewelry party.  I purchased a

"Bird of Paradise" pin, it was beautiful

wish I still had it.

Mary Crowley was the founder of Home Interiors & Gifts. She was also my mother's long-time Sunday School teacher and her dear friend. A chapel named in Mary's honor is in the hospital close to us. She and Mary Kay Ash are highly thought of in our neck of the woods. I guess I was a little young to attend any of the parties and I don't recall that we had any of her products in our home. Probably because we could not afford them.  She started the company around the same time this type of marketing was becoming popular, like Avon, Shaklee, Tupperware, etc. My grandmother hosted Avon parties and her LR would be full of the neighborhood women...I would help her sort the orders when they came in from the "Avon Lady". i see a few Home Interior items like mirrors and sconces in thrift stores occasionally
