- No, he does not have my passwords for anything. Not my phone, laptop, Kindle, bank accounts, investment account, My Health etc etc. Nor do I have his passwords. I don't know why he would ask, he'd have to have an excellent reason for asking for a password. It's not about trust, it's just that we two separate individuals. I've had a few surgeries in my life and I did give him my phone and a couple of other passwords. Just in case. And when I was back on my feet, I changed them. My BFF of 40 years each have a "file" with each other's vital information, including passwords. Including how to access this board to advise posters of my passing.
Why doesn't this surprise me? You give it to your BFF, but not your DH.
Wow, just wow.
I'm not sure why you find it so shocking. I'm not a child. I'm not my husband's dependant. He's not my legal guardian. We are married but we are conjoined twins. If either of us needs the information, we need only ask for it. Although we have our own phones. There really is no reason at all for my husband to ask for my debit card password or the password for retirement accounts. Just as I don't need access to his phone and accounts. My BFF have what we call "files" on each other just in case one of us drops dead. We thought our husbands would be so traumatized they wouldn't think clearly so there should be a file with pertinent information. Who better to have that than your friend of 40 years? Our son in law knows how to access his "just in case" information. I don't why find that surprising.

@aj1980 No, I don't have his and doesn't have mine. He has work stuff on his and there's nothing I need to see on his. He had zero interest in anything I have on mine. Not sure why you are a "better" couple if you give each other your passwords. We have them password protected because you should. It's not that big a deal. There's no special banking info, credit card info or medical info he would need. Contact info? Um we're married he knows who to contact lol. If you automatically think your spouse is hiding something if you don't have their password on a device that should be secured to me that is a trust issue.

Of course. We know all each other's passwords. Not an issue for us. No secrets here.

The only things he did not know were my tablet and my phone. We had another computer that we both used. Lots of comments about trust and having no secrets. True, so why would we want to know the other's passwords.

He did ask and I said no. Then a few months later I said no more to the marriage. I had been ready for that conversation for years so saying no to the password was no big deal to me. He was not pleased about either.

Of course!!!.....Just not the passwords to my five burner phones!!
That's a secret!!!
Kidding of course.
I wish I had a spouse or a mate.
The heck with a phone password.

Yes, we have the same passwords, actually.
Many times he's driving and I'll look for something on his phone or visa versa.
No biggie.
