@Fiero Woman wrote:No. Are we supposed to tip the UPS driver. Golly, I will go broke.
Oh no...don't tip him! We provide job security for these guys.
My regular guy doesnt ring the bell, and doesn't even drop off the packages at the front door, anymore. He now leaves them on a bench in the breezeway, which saves him a few steps. That works for me.
A substitute was working today and actually rang the bell! Asked for a siggy on a wine delivery. The usual guy would never do that..he knows I'm over 21.

Most of the time, yes.

I bet you get excellent service! This is one person I'd never consider tipping.
Well, let me say I lived here 5 years & never same driver.
Although, when I lived in my NJ home Frank was my UPS guy for almost 10 years & we tipped him very generously ever year. Not only did he deliver my Q boxes but my shipments from my business ....he worked hard & never missed a scheduled delivery date!

Is it just me? I read “Does UPS ring your bell” and I think “ring your chimes” and start giggling.

Thank you for the replies, it seems it depends on the driver. I will sign up for email alerts in case.
What gets confusing too is, some packages are transferred to the mailman too and then I try to track those but the mailman doesn't always bring them when it says. UPS does bring them when it says on tracking but that night it was late so anyway its good I checked. And I will keep checking during the holiday season until all of our packages arrive.
PS I lived in the city before, and we had to sign for everything due to crime. But here in the country we don't have to sign for every package.

Not since he pounded his fist on it multiple times in succession, a few years ago, and I disconnected it.
They don't knock. I think they ring the bell and don't realize it's disconnected, even though the light is out. ![]()

No, he doesn't have to ring the bell.....we have a Yorkie that lets me know when anyone sets foot on the front door walkway. ![]()

mine used to , now, doesn't bother for some reason. Wish they would if it wasn't for it popping up on my computer I would never know it's sitting out on my front porch.

No, he just leaves the package on my side porch where he doesn't have to unlatch my gate. I'm at work when they deliver. But everything I've ordered for Christmas so far has been delivered by the post office, and the mailman puts the packages that don't fit in my mailbox on my front porch, right up by my door.

We give our regular UPS man a Christmas gift every year—not cash—as well as our mail ladies.
