Does TikTok drive your buying decisions?

Noticed more hosts spiels reference seeing a product all over TikTok or becoming popular by various social media influencers.

-Tuesday night's launch of The Outset Skincare by Scarlett Johansson. Courtney Khondabi said it was all over TikTok and you could not open TikTok without seeing it.

-Last year's almost $200.00 TSV from Our Place set of two 10-in-1 ceramic nonstick always pans. Yet another TikTok lauded sensation echoed by various hosts throughout the TSV day.

This started me thinking a younger demographic may be more influenced this way and make their way to Q for the sale. Don't like to assume, so why not ask the folks on these boards willing to answer.

Does TikTok and social media influencers drive some of your purchasing?

For me, I'm out of the TikTok loop with no TikTok plans in my future. So, the TikTok / social media influencer spiel angle is a ho-hum.

When I hear that word my mind goes to the phrase "easily influenced." Don't know why anyone seeks to be influenced.

I don't do TikTok. I wish it was outlawed in the USA. I have been to China and love the people, but don't trust their government or TikTok.

No one ever influences me to spend money.

As of June 2023, 34 states have banned TikTok on government devices. This ban only apply to government employees.

This platform smells of trouble. Do your research.

Never look at Tic Toc. Don't care about what influencers are pushing. Aren't they paid by the products they're pushing or get commission for sales they drive to sites? If so, how can you believe them?

Furthermore, just because someone, like Oprah for instance, likes something doesn't mean you or I will like it.

I have no use for TikTok or so called "influencers". I only care about effectiveness of ingredients and if the product actually works (not because someone who got a free sample said it did). I did watch SJ and she seemed moreso than some other celebrities, to actually be very invested in the product development. And I appreciated it is a truly vegan system.
