I like that on the couch but not the glass of milk  on it that looks like it's about to tip over!

Huh.  If I'm eating alone I always use a tray.  Most of the time I'm not watching TV.

(It's a very nice tray, not a piece of plastic kwap.)  

It keeps everything I want handy and doesn't mess the dining room table.

No it doesn't make me think of "old." It looks like someone eats dinner in front of the TV. Age has nothing to do with it. I can't comprehend thinking that.

And I'm thinking that is too nice a couch to be eating on.  They probably don't have pets either.  

I do eat in the room with the TV whatever you want to call it.  No, I don't think old, but I wouldn't want that particular tray.  I like my food in front of me, not off to the side.

Not an ideal tray if one has pets.  Dogs, cats, etc.

I prefer a 'TV tray'. 

 Preferably with a lip all around the tray.  

I have two wooden TV trays without a 'lip' around the tray.  

We have to be careful whenever we use them.  Which isn't very often.

No, it doesn't.  But then, why would a tray of food make a person think "old" ?
