Yes, it's handier than a pocket on a shirt, but, if you saw this in a house would you say "yep, old people live here"?  I don't know why it matters, it's just the first thing I thought of.  AND we don't eat in the den.

If I saw this in someone's home I would think couch potato not old people.  I am a couch potato and this looks like something I would use.

No, it does not make me think old,i am old enough to remember the tv trays,my mil used them.

No, I didn't think of an old person, but I has a brief thought of hospital trays, except this food looks better than hospital food.

It makes me think that in a minute breakfast is going to be all over that carpet.  That tray doesn't look stable to me at all.

That tray table doesn't make any sense for a couch potato, older person or anyone else. Not convenient or comfortable.

Only a young person would probably be able to eat all that fat and calories. So I would think someone young. In fact, I remember trays like that when my mom (as a treat) would let us watch tv with a tray, once in awhile.

There was a time when it would have made me think "old", but having read a few threads over the years here on the boards I learned that a lot of people eat their meals on a tray in their TV room.

It's not a concept that appeals to me, but perhaps if you are alone it would be a different story.
