My football rocking/recliner chair wants to lean back.  I'd have to sit on the edge of the chair to use a tv tray.  I think I'll like it.  I'll let you guys know tomorrow.

@monicakm  I wish you just the best evening with your attachable tray and watching football. And I wish your family, those still here and your mom and brother who have left, could all join you the way you wish. What could be more perfect  ♥️

Re: Does This Make You Think "Old"?

@monicakm  It's just that I'm kind of where you're at--

I'm close to your age and grieving very much the loss of my sweet husband. There is no acceptance of it or feeling better as time goes by. It's getting harder as I realize he's never going to be here again.

When you wrote about what your husband was going through with his health it sounded so similar to what my husband went through and I had asked you and wanted to know how your husband was doing.

I just had to reach out to you because as you write about your loss and grief, I get emotional for you. Hugs

Oh no Smiley Sad  I'm really very sorry for what you're going thru with the loss of your husband.  It's scary how final death is.  Knowing it's final and experiencing it are two different things.  At our ages, the thought of death and not having him (or him losing me) is real.  My dad used to say "tomorrow is coming".  I absolutely don't know what I'd do without him.  He is my rock and as a Dr once put it, "my shock absorber".  His calm, cool and collective self compliments my high strung perfectionist self.  We couldn't be more different but it works.

I'm sorry I don't recall you asking about my husband's health.  My memory is nearly non-existent.  I hope I answered you.  He's good right now.  Trying to retire but his clients keep requesting his work and he won't say no.  I have marked Tues as unavailable (on our Google calendar) thru the end of the year.  We'll get there (sigh).

Thank you again.

@monicakm   I think "football snacks", but I doubt I would put my drink on there.  My snacks and drink currently would be on the end table near the recliner.  It's cute, I just don't need another gadget.  Enjoy your purchase.

My first thought is- who would balance that tray with all that food on the arm of a cream colored sofa. Guess that's my mom/grandma  voice in my head thinking.......Wouldn't be a woman that's for sure.  We know better!

Re: Does This Make You Think "Old"?

Call me old, lazy, a couch potato, etc. but when I had surgery several years ago, I was pretty much a couch potato for 12 weeks.  I bought a Table Mate so I could have a good amount space to hold my iPad, reading material, mail, notebook, pen, plate, drink.  It was so handy that I ordered a second one for DH so it would be easier for him to eat with me.  We still use them.  Our life is more casual than it was when our kids were home.  We still have our morning coffee at the kitchen table, but more often than not lunch is in the family room using our trays.  I make no excuses.  It works for us.
