Exactly!
Jay is right....it should not take an army of women to prove s-e-x-u-a-l abuse.

Where young girls are routinely abused and the abusers suffer no repercussions. Journalists are brutally flogged. This is a country that supports Wahabism, which is the ideology of terrorism. Is Leno trying to make some kind of moral equivalency here? I'm not understanding it.
I think he made that reference because his wife is very involved in women's rights in the middle east. It was probably just a reference that came to mind because of his familiarity with women's rights in that area.

His comment was about believing the women, not proof. They will never be able to prove it because of the passage of time.
What I hope will happen is that this band of women will encourage other victims to speak out if something like that happens to them.

Once of the biggest problem in our society is that abused women are put on trial and attacked for every aspect in their life... rarely treated like a victim in the court of law....because of this many women do not come forward at the time a crime is committed against them.
I've witnessed 1st hand a young woman being accused of dressing a certain way to cause her attack and yes...she has a couple drinks..one which he laced with a drug that rendered her unconcious......scrubbing herself clean because she felt dirty afterwards....staying silent for months because she feared what her abuser would do....it wasn't until a couple others came forward that this person was brought to justice...he was a serial rapist (all these girls knew him in advance)....in the end there were over 100 girls that came forward....that is how many young girls he raped in a two year period by drugging them...and it took the bravery of a few to open up the commnucaiton lines with his other victims....how can society stand by and let women be raked over the coals for coming forward?....most already feel humilated/violated and then they are shamed or made to feel ashamed on top of it...like somehow it is their fault...I can't blame women for their silence.....however...silence is what allows these sicko's to get away with it over and over and over.

This is pretty much where I am with this topic. I'm not saying it didn't occur, but What the heck are so many young women doing by letting this go on, and keeping quiet about it for so long? We have really come so much farther than this, and every one of these women have made it that much harder for women to be believed, by not standing up at the time these actions supposedly took place, and confronting it head on. Bill Cosby was a powerful man, but really? Not that much, that so many women avoided coming out with this when it could have made a difference. Each one shares some of the blame for those that suffered at his hand after them.

I have a question.
Has anyone heard anything about the most recent woman who came forward? The lawyers had said that they could prove that Cosby wasn't there at the time.
I was wondering because if they did prove that he wasn't there, they will say that you can't believe the other women either.

O', I Do agree with straykatz's comment...DEFININITEY do!
Also I 99% think that Marienkaefer2 is very CORRECT. According to Wahhabism, that's close enough for me to understand...`that the behavior is not of any belief from women telling the truth ` from the Koran..maybe someone else can add on to this? I know it is a strict RULE among the men there!!
As far as Cosby not having that much power, NOT SO. I know that men love to have power and seek it out and use it. That includes some women also. Power is their looks that they do not have...in most situations. Interesting thread.

I've read that Jay proudly considers himself a feminist, in every meaningful sense of the word.
