I may hate when the temps get over 110 in Arizona but at least we don't have humidity. Our a/c runs from April til October. High humidity usually only happens after a monsoon storm and it's still nothing compared to other parts of the country.

Yes, the humidity bothers me as I have COPD. Breathing can be an issue even without it. I'm inside with the air on and a couple fans blowing. Of course, it's not much better in the very cold weather either. Today is the first day of a heat wave of 3 or 4 days.

The only time I experienced very oppressive humidity was on a summer when we were in Minnesota. We were bused to a playhouse in the early evening. When we got off the bus, wow. It just eveloped us.

I have multiple sclerosis. Heat makes me tired, achy, my balance gets messed up. I couldn't live without air conditioning. And the pool is good for me to. And I take cold showers all summer. I'm allso in new England. Rhode Island. Good luck to all of you that have a hard time dealing with the summer heat and the awful humidity that dew points are in the 70s. Almost as bad as it gets.

When I'm waiting in the car, even if it isn't hot, but when it's humid, and I'm wearing fleece and other non-breathable fabrics, I feel as though I can't breathe.
I believe Mary Beth Roe recently said something similar re: humid days. Not exact (re: fleece), but something similar. I don't recall what she was presenting.
I do remember that I thought how similar we are re: how we feel on humid days.

@Foxxee where in the NE are you? I'm in western MA and it's sweltering time...

Humidity makes me every bad thing you can think of (lazy, tired, crabby, uncomfortable). Our air conditioning kicks in at 73 degrees and I can just barely manage.
When I was a farm kid, all we had was a box fan. We'd put a feather bed on the living room floor and sleep there. I looked forward to getting out of the hot upstairs bedrooms and would fall asleep while the older family members watched TV.

Here in Minneapolis I think we might have broken a record for the most consecutive number of days over 90° during the month of June. Several of those days also included high humidity which when outside can feel stifling. But it's not like I am a ditch digger.😃
I am wearing shorts and a t shirt and just now had to come in from the balcony. I don't know what the current temp is, but I was freezing. So while we can have some ugly hot humid days, a reprieve is often just around the corner.

OMG I hate heat!!! There is nothing I like about it. We are set to hit 113 today when we should not be more than 80ish.
I will take a rainy climate any day over this!
