Pointelle and eyelet are trending across the designers.  Who decides what is trending?

I never liked pointelle and JMO, eyelet is for little girls.

I think we see this from all designers,  QVC and otherwise, every Spring and Summer season.

Besides internet influencers, movie/pop stars also make things popular.

When we buy it, they make it.  "Trends" that die are in the discount bin.

You may not like them, but eyelet and pointelle are just materials, and they are used all the time.  Eyelet is a summer/warm weather material, but pointelle is just a knit, sells year round.  Pointelle is in no way a "trend".

So many things in fashion are cyclical.

Designers dust off old ideas and put a new spin on them.

I remember wearing palazzo pants in the 1970s and have seen them this season.

Reminds me of the saying "Everything old is new again".

Doesn't it start from what the big name designers show on their runways at the Paris, Milan, New York fashion shows?

@Tinkrbl44   What you said.  They run everything in cycles.  They start recycling 80's clothes, maybe a sleeve, a length, material. Then next season add something a little 60's. And so on. They give to influencers, celebs, who try it out. If it flys , they do more, and give it another twist. Everything is in cycles.
