Doe Anyone Have Verizon Dish?

We don't have Verizon Fios in my town for some reason the town doesn't want it but we can have the Verizon Dish. What I would like to know do you lose your t.v. when there is a storm or bad weather? We now have Comast and paying over $200.00 a month is a bit to much for only one step up from the cheapest!! We are looking to change. TIA

Re: Doe Anyone Have Verizon Dish?

I think Verizon is connected with Direct TV not DISH which is a competing satellite TV provider to DIRECT TV. We have Verizon FIOS for internet, DIRECT TV with HBO (premium channel) and our home phone all on one Verizon bill. Our cost monthly for all 3 services including taxes is $274.00 per month. We have had Direct TV for 7 years now and I would say we have lost service due to weather maybe a dozen times in those 7 years. There are actually two different satellite dishes that send data to the TV. Several times we have lost service on some of the channels but still have service on others. We had 6 inches of snow last night but this AM we had service. When I went to change channels around 10 AM I got a message on the screen for the channel Inwas trying to look at that said it could not get a signal. I went outside with a small hand broom and brushed snow off the dish. Came in and I had service on the channel that I couldn't get to come in earlier.
