I would still want him to be watched and monitored for a while. We don't know if the virus would come back in a relapse that would be stronger and more deadly.
You're right. It is only a THEORY that it won't come back. As you can imagine, they haven't tested this theory by infecting survivors with the virus again.

Exactly. He could be like a typhoid Mary with others he does come into contact with. I am not that gullible to just go along with the authorities at all anymore. We have been mislead too many times on too many issues.
You are exactly right. We were at dinner with one of the top doctors in the country and we were talking about this very subject. He said there could be a "slight" possibility that they are carries or it could develop and be passed on to others at some point. He said they just don't know.YIKES!!!! Looks like we will find out whether we want to or not.
Please remember he said "slight" and the only reason he said "slight" is because no one knows the lasting effects of the test serum. he did explain how the serum worked, how it was created. it's a hybrid and like any virus if it evolves the serum will no longer work.

If it is only contacted by blood, urine, bodily fluids, except for those in close contact with the patient, than it would not be harmful to others around them, family and friends yes, they are close, but sitting on a plane next to a possible infectious person, because it is not airborne?
I know this may seem like a stupid question, but what about the people that possiblely sat next to this person in CA in the Kaiser ER, if he went there, or before he got the symptions when he first arrived from West Africa? Just wondering. Is that why there isolate when they find out to protect themselves?
Personally, why the hush hush at Kaiser? Also, why so long to determine if this person has it or not.
What ever happen to the Dr or health care worker that isolated himself in his house while his wife was on vacation? Did anyone hear anymore about him? It was at the time of the first Dr. that contacted it, so that was weeks ago. Anyone ever watch the TV show Extinct?
Say what you want about Trump, he could be right.
Sorry, but I'm still concern, that we certainly are not being told everything.
I don't know how to copy an article about the Kaiser Patient, so I only made the post about the new outbreak if it is one. Thanks for posting the article, it doesn't say much, just like on ABC news.
I was watching an interview on CNN last night with one of the prominent doctors who said they know now that the virus did not enter their protective suits of the two that came back to the U.S. to Emory. He went on to say that this was a relief. However, it was not stated how then both contracted the disease since they were experts and knew the dangers.

I hope you realize Sacramento Kaiser is not hysterical about this. And it's one person, not an outbreak. He'd been in West Africa and came home with symptoms that could fit the flu or dozens of other viruses. No one is saying there's an outbreak. Be glad Kaiser took precautions.

Yes, it was stated quite awhile ago. They were infected by one of their staff who did cleanup and had the virus herself.

But how did she give it to them?

She cleaned surfaces. She probably left traces on equipment or tables.

So, it could be communicable without the passing of body fluids to someone else?

I'm not hysterical or in a panic mode, just asking questions. I'm a Kaiser retiree. Worked there, and still in contact with some nurses. I will quit on the subject.
I guess the person that cleaned the surface, didn't use disinfect, but didn't they say only through body fluids? We are gullible.

No, not unless there's live virus, and they wouldn't have been released if that was true.
