Do your possessions affect your self-esteem?

Be honest. Does that designer handbag make you feel better about yourself? Or does the car you drive make you feel more important or "better" than someone who drives a less expensive model? I have to admit I used to allow myself to think that way - that was back before I grew up. {#emotions_dlg.glare} Funny how getting older makes you realize how silly you once were. I still remember over 20 years ago standing by my mother's hospital bed when she was dying of cancer. I looked at myself in the mirror over the sink and it dawned on me that some things are just so meaningless. And I made a promise that I would never allow myself to worry about silly things again. Just saying ladies - I love my expensive handbags, etc. as much as anyone but I hope you don't put too much importance on such things. They are, after all, just things.
