Re: Do you wish the time change would end?

Doesn't matter to me now. When I lived in New Jersay and was a Hotel manager I forgot and got to work an hour early and was wondering why the front dest crew didn't change over. Kept it to myself. Having the housekeeping staff change all the clocks was a pain. Took us days.

Now I'm ok with it. I'm now on the same time as my family and friends in the Caribbean and it works for me.  We can talk anytime.

Georgia was planning to change it, but it didn't happen. I like been different.

@Carmie - I understand her point.  As a frequent visitor to Texas to visit family, the sun setting one hour earlier makes a difference.  It allows the things to start coolling down a bit earlier.  I would prefer Standard Time in So. California.  Our summers are getting hotter and hotter and would welcome the sun setting an hour earlier.  I don't know where you live.  Maybe it doesn't matter in your climate.

I live in PA.....a hot and humid state.  When the sun sets in July and August, it doesn't cool down much at night.  It remains hot and sticky.

We run the AC for 24 hours...we set and forget it.

The sun rises and sets according to the season.  We gain one minute of day light starting at the winter solstice and then lose one minute of daylight starting at the summer solstice.

That isn't going to change no matter what time it is. We still have the same number of hours of sunlight as determined by the time of the year.  The clock can't change that.

Re: Do you wish the time change would end?

Just curious .... does anyone have any idea what it would take to end daylight savings?

When I was a kid, I seem to recall an adult telling me it was important for our food supply.  The farmers really needed that extra hour to help produce sufficient crops to feed our country.  Now, food comes from everywhere, although I always try to buy locally.

Every now and then I read something like "they are talking about it ... blah blah blah ... "   and I wonder who is the THEY they keep referring to?

Are THEY waiting for a large number of people to start a petition?   Do any other countries do DS ... or just the US?

@Tinkrbl44   DST is practiced in the US, Canada, Australia, UK, Asia, most European countries, and parts of South America.

@Tinkrbl44  There are a number of states who have or will have legislation to end the time change. Google to see what states.

I really enjoy DST, and wish we had it all year.

Re: Do you wish the time change would end?

would rather have STANDARD TIME year round rather than DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME year round.

however, either way it goes we should just do away with the time change......it is totally unnecessary and a nuisance.

I say leave it one way or the other and stop changing.  So what if it's a little dark in the morning or at night?

Re: Do you wish the time change would end?

It seems to take me a couple of days to adjust to the time change....the older I get...but having the sunshine an hour longer today was nice...now if we could just have the warm temps to go with it.
