Re: Do you wish the time change would end?

Yes. I would prefer daylight saving time.

I would like one standard time.  I don't really see the benefits of switching, as they were when it all started.

However, I did hear a NPR report about it.  The reporter interviewed someone that recalled doing away with daylights saving time in the 70's.  They claimed the natural switch, to longer daylight, was harder on people than the one hour switch done at once. And it was decided to keep it daylights savings as it was.

I am sorry I don't know more about the details-- where or how the experiment was conduct.

In 1973-74, we stayed on DST all year and did not go back to standard time.  This was done because of an energy shortage.  The extra light in the evenings allowed people to not use as much energy in the evening.

This method of using DST was used several times throughout US history.

My daughter was born in January 1974 and her birth certificate clearly states 11:36 PM, DST.

I like DST.  I Vote to keep it as is, or use it all year. I enjoy the lighter evenings.

Raise a ruckus on your state level.  They can change it to one unchanging time.

Looks like as of this month there are a number of states considering staying with one time and not changing.

California did and even though it passed, it still hasn't changed.

[ Edited ]

Nearing bedtime, I prefer to start winding down by observing dusk beginning to set in. Then I prefer to greet morning with dawn breaking, not darkness. It's our preset, natural biological process. DST is basically backwards from our presets.

We do this so someone can play golf later in the evening, or BBQ and so businesses will have customers later into the night. Give them light; they will come. Of course, businesses thrive.

DST is backwards from most of our internal clocks. If you Google the negative effects of this change, there are many studies to support it can cause serious health consequences for some. Yes, just one hour.

I would accept either as a permanent change. This would give everyone time to fully adapt our internal clocks. But, flipping back and forth is not good. More so for some work hours and routines.

YEP, I wish we would just keep it on Standard Time....its ridiuclous here in Texas we dont need Daylight Saving Time ....it doesnt get dark until almost 10PM in the warmer months, and that means it doesnt cool down until then, so our A/Cs keep going full blast for that extra hour of daylight and extreme HEAT which makes a difference in our utility bills ..🌞.🔥🥵  Texas should have followed Arizona's lead with an exception....

I don't understand your logic.

Changing the clock one hour doesn't change the weather or temptature outside.  It just changes the clock. When it's 100+ degrees outside, it's hot.  Moving your clock ahead or behind isn't going to change a thing.

You would run your AC 24/7 in the hot weather no matter what time the clock says.

Re: Do you wish the time change would end?

I am not so set in my routine that the hour change bothers me one way or the other.  It's an hour.

I despise standard time (especially when I worked) because it's less daylight hours and I hate it getting dark early in the day.  It depresses me to no end.

I hate fall and winter because of it.  Let there be moe daylight (saving) each and every day!!!!!!!

Re: Do you wish the time change would end?

I just wish TIME would slow down...

My 35 year career in Megacorp went by in 20 minutes, I retired 10 minutes ago ( in 2013) and it's 5 minutes since Y2K ( 22 years ago....)

My Mom passed 1 minute ago ( in 2015) ...

Play with time all you want, an hour longer of daylight, and hour darker in the morning....I just want it to SLOW DOWN!!!!!

Spring is almost here ( march 21)..then wonderful summer......better enjoy it cause winter will be here again in about 30 seconds!!!!

Re: Do you wish the time change would end?

Yes.  I wish we could stick with the lengthened day that was initiated today.

So tired of being yanked around and having my circadian rhythm upset.
