Some just did not seem to understand what having a brain injury does to someone. At the age of 22 my son was involved in a terrible car accident and ended up with short term memory loss. I understand it all. I saw what he went through and the frustrations he endured. Things that seem like nothing to me was a big deal to my son. Sometimes he repeated the same thing over and over without realizing it. He is now doing a whole lot better and started a computer company and is holding his own. He prefers to work from home because he suffers from anxiety. All in all he is doing well and i am so proud of him. May 23rd makes 11 years since this happened and i thank God everyday that he is alive. All the best to you R&R.
Hello, I am so happy he is alive and that he has his own business and it can be at home. My injury was 11 years ago May 2 2003............so mine and his was so close. Thank you for understanding because if people don't know someone with one or have one they don't understand because they can't always see the damage..........since its on the inside. I get high anxiety also and I stay home when I am that way........Prozac has really helped me and hugs to you and your son......tell him hello and I am so happy for him. I love the site www. tbi guide dot com........so much great information for the family and survivors.........that is a nice doctor also........he seems to care and makes it easy to understand brain injuries. Hugs to you and your son. Thank you for posting.

I know you're interested in volunteering, and since you have an interest in boutiques, a hospital gift shop might just be something you'd enjoy. I know the hospital closest to me is always looking for volunteers to work in their gift shop. I always thought it would be a fun volunteer experience, and I'm sure you would learn some new skills (always a great thing!). And, of course, volunteering is always a great thing, too (I know you already know that). Anyway, just a thought.
Stay strong! (((hugs)))
That is a good idea about working in a gift shop in a hospital.........I like this idea. I will check this out next week. I have to go to my ENT tomorrow about a knot in my nose that is not any better so who knows what he will do......but that is something I will work on next week. Thank you..........(((((((HUGS)))))) Thank you friend. My cyber friend.
Wonderful! Try to find the hospital's Volunteer office first, and they'll be able to let you know what their needs are. If they don't mention the gift shop, please ask. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!
