We still have a land line. And originally for no other reason but it being included. But now my kid is old enough to use the phone, but not a cell, so she calls me to say she loves me or calls her grandmother who lives out of state or her grandfather two streets over❤️. She feels like a big deal, and quite honestly, I want her to know how to use the phone if there ever is an emergency so no cell phone is required.

Yes ... can't imagine being without either cell or landline.

I still have a landline and I found out something a while back from the Fire Department, Police Department. They said that you do really need a landline because not all 911 centers will show your address when you call them on your cell phone but a landline will show them your exact address. Also they said to make sure your landlines are not run thur your electric because if the power goes out so does your phone. I do know Spectrum is through your electric so I woud never use them for a landline phone. I have a cell but I only use it when I am out and need to ask someone a queston. I used my cell phone years ago and called 911 and told them that I had been hit in the back end of my car and the person took off. I had pulled over and waited for close to one hour and no one showed up. I went home and called the police department and asked why no one came because I wannted a police report to give to my insurance company in case something was wrong with my car. They checked and could not find where I had called but asked me to come to the police department and they would fill out a report. They said my call must have bounced off one of the cell tower and sent it to someone else. Just wanted people to know this. Alanddline will not let you down if you have them with a good company that does not go through your electricity.

My cell is also in my purse, keep it turned off. When I am out of the house I am happy NOT to be on the phone with anyone.

Use my landland all of the time. Do have a cell phone, but only carry it with me for emergency use if I'm going out of town.

@beckyb1012 - Had to chuckle at your post. I got rid of mine many years ago and the only time I think it about it is when these landline threads pop up.
My 84 year old father got rid of his years ago too.
