I take a vacation day.  The last place I want to be on my birthday is at work.

@joannecha,   I normally do treat myself for my birthday with something personal or a treat to a special restaurant.

Not really....I don't need anything and if I want something I buy it.  We do a lot of traveling and I like to buy things when I am in another country....
