Yesterday here was sunny but cold - below freezing with snow on the ground.

I went at noon to get my car washed, the lines were too long...backed on to the street.

When I tried again at 5, I still had to wait half an hour. When I got up to the girl who dries the cars off, her towels were wet and her hands looked raw in the cold. She had to go around the car twice to dry it off.

I tipped her $5, something I have never done before. She said she was freezing and worked an overtime shift because of the traffic. I told her she was a hard worker and deserved something extra...it was REALLY hard work!

Do you ever tip the car wash people?
