Goodness stands alone. It does not need the contrast of evil to exist.

Re: Do you think this is true?

I would rephrase: "There is no pure good" on this earth. Everyone is fallible. There is good with flaws, but I would deny that "evil" has to be mixed with good.

Evil is willed, in my idea of it. Mistakes are not necessarily intended, but they can have very bad effects.

It's called trust. After all God gave them the perfect life and they wanted for nothing. All that He required in return from them was obedience. He even told them what would happen if they disobeyed.

Re: Do you think this is true?

Because of the duality of the world, there are many concepts we would not recognize without their polar opposites [Eastern thought calls it Yin/Yang.].

How would we know light without dark, dry without wet, or unconsciousness without consciousness?

There wouldn't be valleys without mountains, leaders without followers, or feminine without masculine.

Just as we wouldn't know what evil is if we had never experienced good.

So, No; I don't think there can be good without evil. We would be unable to recognize one without the other.

We wouldn't even be discussing this if it wasn't God's plan.

I don't believe that for a second! It is not God's will that people suffer and die or do terrible things to one another. We were created with free will, that is what got us where we are today, not God's will.

I did not say it was God's will.

God knew what was going to happen to Adam and Eve.
