It is hard to say because the feet being stuffed in there are so distracting. Like trying to put 10lbs of sausage in a 5lb casing.

Chinese foot binding. Done to girls under 6 years old so they would be crippled and would have to marry a rich man. We've come a long way, baby!

I don't like that style of shoe - that said, I've been on my feet all day before in hot weather and walking, and my feet will puff up. Shoes that fit beautifully in the am look really bad by mid-day and horrid at night. However - they just *look* bad, but still fit good.
