Does toilet paper count?

Re: Do you store food and water?

We always have extra non-perishable foods (snacks, etc.) and bottled water on hand anyway, for when we go on extended car trips, like day trips.

"Because of all the trouble in the world?" Do you mean wars, terrorism, etc?

It's very smart to keep extra food and water....and not because of "the end of the world" like another poster said. Blizzards, tornadoes, etc. can trap you in your house for a short period of time or destroy local businesses where you might buy food. And you don't just let it sit there and expire. You USE it and keep replacing it with newer food and water. Not sure why anyone would think you'd just let it expire. That would be stupid.

Not everyone lives in areas prone to natural disaster, therefore stockpiling food is not smart.

It is stupid to presume that everyone has the same needs you do.

All areas of the world can have natural disasters. It doesn't even have to be natural disasters. What if you had a major financial crisis? At least you'd have some food stored so you wouldn't have to pay for groceries for a couple weeks. It's just smart, yrion. Not sure why a presumably smart person like you can't see that.

While we are not preppers or anything, we do have a safe room with supplies in the event of a tornado, etc.

Same here, as we always have. Twice, so far, we've been thankful for it, or would have had to have gone to stay at shelters. IF we were able to get to one safely... The home generator system is also one of the best investments we've made.

Re: Do you store food and water?

I don't really store it, but my pantry is very well stocked. Not because of world problems tho. Where I live, it is not unheard of to lose power for at least a day at a time. Sometimes much longer. It makes me feel more secure to have plenty of food and water on hand for me and my animals.

No. If it makes you feel good, however, there's no harm in doing so....

I don't consider two weeks of food a stockpile.
