Someone in Jewelry also had that problem. I wonder if forming it into a rolo link and making it a bracelet is going to be a problem. I'll be interested in reading the reviews when they come in.
Could be - I don't like the byzantine or bracelets in general, so the TSV wasn't on my radar. Never thought about it falling apart, but I know bracelets and rings definitely need to be stronger than earrings and necklaces. Doesn't matter who's selling!

I used to buy a lot of jewelry from the Q back in the day -- when Kathy Levin and the gang were there. The prices were so great back then and they had all those wonderful gold and gem shows. I wish I had scarfed up more pieces! Now, I can't afford to buy the pieces I'd really like.
I also like vintage jewelry a lot, but sheesh, I can't even touch this stuff any more!
Enjoy, everyone! I do love looking!!!

I have two very large pieces of Byzantine jewelry and cannot imagine this happening. it is such a tight weave.
I had purchased a load of gold jewelry when gold was so cheap so I don't need any more. For diamond or gemstone jewelry, I always shop around locally.
Viewers are always complaining about the Q's prices but most of our local jewelry store's prices are outrageous.

I get my jewelry (when I buy it) on JTV.com & I purchase when they have $$ off coupons.

Hi, Gato, I agree with Millie that while price is important, the crafting and quality of the workmanship often makes a piece irrelevant to the "melt-down" value of the gold.
So I shop around for the best piece at the best price, but not so much for the lowest price per gram. I am very happy that gold prices are going down now; I suspect that some of the Gold Rush prices reflect contracts that were negotiated some time ago.
I bought the San Marco (well, it's on waitlist, but I may get it), which I thought was a good value for the amount of work that goes into it. I did not like the TSV. Though I like rolos and like Byzantines, I thought they did not go well together. The small plain byzantine hoops I thought were lovely, but too pricey for me.

Hi Burnsite! Was the San Marco the one with the hammered finish? San Marco is a pretty look. I agree about the TSV. And it seemed like it could possibly pull on arm hair. Not that I have a lot of arm hair but I had bracelets that do that and it's annoying. Enjoy your bracelet!

Hi, Gato, Yes, the wait-list San Marco has a hammered finish.
I prefer a smooth finish--yet a poster on the Jewelry Forum said that she had both finishes and though she preferred the smooth herself, her San Marco with a hammered finish was more practical, in that it did not show the small dents that had happened over the years. As I am not too easy on my jewelry, I decided to order it.

Hmm. Good point. I hadn't though about that.
