I send out three Christmas cards every year.

Today I am getting my only Christmas card from a cousin who said horrible things about my mom's funeral and posted them on Facebook when my mom died and implied things (and said them) about me. And she wasn't in the country at the time.
So now I'm getting a Christmas card? Does this happen to you? I cannot imagine why someone would do that. Boggles my mind. No sympathy card or note or call, but a Christmas card.
Maybe it's just me.

Same with me. I decided, not this year.

I'll give up sending Christmas cards when you pry them from my cold, dead hands.

I enjoy sending out Christmas cards. It doesn’t matter to me if I receive one in return. I think most people no longer send them. I will keep the tradition alive as long as I can. It’s a nice way to keep in touch and let people know you’re thinking of them. I mailed about 16 this year.

A friend of mine who sells real estate sends out Thanksgiving cards every year.
That way, his is the first holiday card you get ... and he doesn't have to deal with which December holiday the recipient celebrates.
Clever idea for a business holiday card, IMO.

@JoJo1313.. that’s cool u owned a Hallmark Card Store. I love the Hallmark card stores .😊 However, they’re becoming few and far between. A few in my area have closed in the last few years. Happy Holidays..
You could never get a Hallmark card in the supermarket. drug store or dollar store like today!..
Where I live here there are no "free standing" card stores..Frankly Hallmark had too many rules for private store owners.

@LindaSal wrote:My situtation is the same as most of you, I still send them but not nearly what I used to send. I mailed 20 cards this year on Dec 3 and have received seven so far. I enjoy it and I'm sad that it seems to be becoming a lost tradition for many. I'll most likely keep it going but not sure for how long.
@amyb Your post cracked me up as I don't care for those life update letters either, LOL,
just send me a short note and I'm good.
Exactly! I always feel just a tadddd guilty admitting to it, like the Grinch. "Sorry, not sorry" but those cards, though probably not intended to be this way, they always feel more like social media...it's all about me, me, us, me, here's what we did all last year!!! Rather than "thinking of you, hoping all is well and wishing you a Merry Christmas!!" One is about THEM, one is about who you are sending a card to...which, to me, in my most humble opinion, is what it's about.
I open them, and it just literally "feels" like it's about them, and has little to do with wishing me anything, so I don't feel anything from it. Anyhoo, call me old school or Grinch....I OWN it! Lol.
