Do you read the whole thread?

I always read the whole thread and each response. There are times I learn new things or thoughts about a topic. There are a lot of times a topic takes a turn in the wrong direction and it is hard to keep up. Sometimes they even disappear while I'm reading it. Do you do this or just add a response but don't really know what happened in-between postings?
