Obviously, I am in the minority, but yes, I do. I don't avoid movies because they are over a certain length, I certainly don't put a novel back on the shelf if it is over a certain # of pages, and I NEVER leave a Dodger game tilll its over- no matter how long it might proceed!
I cannot believe that so many would cut themselves off from communication, and sharing of ideas simply because, without even reading, they decide it appears "too long".. without even KNOWING the content...
What kind of shallow, Cliff-Noted society have we become?
i think the dictionary is too long..Which letters should we eliminate?

It depends on the topic.

I agree...but if it's 5 paragraphs of somebody complaining about how someone cut in front of them in line at the Wal-Mart, it's probably not worth my time, you know?

When it's all quotes, I usually skip those too. When it's over 3 or 4 quoted posts, it's hard to decipher who is saying what.

Hi, still - you haven't exceeded my quote limit. LOL
Sometimes when it's 5 or 6 or even 7 quotes, I don't read those. It's just too hard to follow.

I will try to get the jist of it. If it's not something I am interested in I just move along. But there some worth reading.

99.9% of the time it's NO.....100% if there are no paragraphs.
The same goes for e-mails. If somebody forwards some schmaltzy story and it's several paragraphs long......DELETE!!!!

Don't have time to decipher someone's nonsense.
I don't read long threads either.
This ^.
No paragraphs? TL;DR.
And I won't read anything that's only punctuated with ellipses.
I always think posters who use ellipses instead of punctuation, don't know how to punctuate. I don't read those because I doubt anything they have to say is worth reading.
I love when people use punctuation incorrectly while they're in the process of insulting others' punctuation skills.
