Yes, growing up we did (Upper Midwest, so not just a Southern thing!). I've also seen tomatoes mentioned ... doesn't everyone salt tomatoes??

I am an admitted freak. I hate watermelon. I converted my husband to my side but the rest of the family loves it. I don't think they add salt to it but to me it tastes awful.

No, and I don't understand why anyone would put salt on sweet, juicy watermelon.

Yes, salt on watermelon.  Also, chile powder and fresh squeezed lime juice on all melons.  Yummy!!
