Every course is on sale. Plus you get free shipping. The Great Courses is in the process of closing out their DVD's. After they're all sold out, they will only offer streaming service. I'm old fashioned & prefer DVD's. Both streaming and DVD's are on sale.
They sell so many different kinds of courses. I picked up some science & engineering for my husband. We also have a lot of courses on history and arm chair travel. I bought one on Tai chi & sewing for myself. We'll also be watching a course on 1960's British Invasion music and the Beatles. You name it, there's a course for that.

Streaming--we haven't had a DVD player in years and years...

It depends. Sometimes you have the streaming and then after a while you leave and join another. But I still have a lot of movies and especially British series on DVD. It's nice to go back and watch them again.

I prefer DVD's. I have a large cabinet of DVD's. I have both movies and TV shows. Many of the TV shows are no longer on the air.
I know some have gotten rid of their DVD's and gone to streaming services but I will never part with my collection. I have many movies from the 80's and 90's that are no longer shown on any of the streaming services.
I guess I am old-fashioned since I also have many CD's and even record albums and lots of 45's. I enjoy the new technology but I also like to have reminders of the past.

I prefer DVDs. The picture quality is better.

@J Town Girl Us too! DH has a huge collection of both CD's and DVD's, several of which the movies are in 3D and we have the glasses, so fun! We still use our DVD player but we also stream, it depends on what we are watching. DH also has a huge album collection in mint condition! Of course we have extra bookcases for all these things and the albums are in crates in our closet It makes him happy though and he will never part with any of it, I think he'd get rid of me first, LOL!

I do both. If I have a movie on dvd that streaming wants me to pay to watch I watch the dvd.
I have bought movies I like to watch when I want but streaming wants me to pay. I think not.
I have the Fast & Furious series, The Transporter series, Taken series plus more. DH has a lot of dvds if I need something to watch.
If it's a movie I like I will buy the dvd if it's something I have to keep paying to watch.

If we are heading out in the camper we prefer DVDs, that way it doeesn't matter if we have internet connections or not.

DVD's and music CD's. There is a used cd/dvd store in town. They buy/sell/swap music, movies and old skool games and game gear.
I want to watch what I want and I'm an audiophile so music on a "device" is just not music to my ears.
It seems they want you to rent everything to keep up their monthly revenue.
