the ability to have your online history, including, financial, medical, SS number, online chatting. social media, mobil apps, etc. sold for profit starts again? The identity thieves must be so happy, should make it even easier for them.
This is NOT intended as a political post, just what do you plan to do to protect yourself.

My personal rule is don't do anything online that I wouldn't be comfortable seeing blasted all over the front page of the New York Times and highlighted on the evening news.
With the millions and millions of people online, the odds of my having a problem are slim. I take normal precautions and will worry about it something happens.

I think it's insane. You will have to encrypt the information somehow, right?
Are you using a search engine that doesn't track?

It saddens me that our privacy is constantly being eroded. Why does anyone need to know my SS number - especially without my consent? And why can someone purchase my medical information? I simply don't understand this new law - who is really benefitting from selling and buying such personal information?

This makes me so angry, I can't even discuss it.

Not really correct. It's about anything and everything you do online or about you in email, websites, etc. They're counting on the public being complacent about it. ![]()
Waiting until the damage is already done will be a mistake imho.

I believe there will be unintended (well, not thought through, shall we say) consequences and the whole thing will backfire.
Two steps forward, one step back. I don't think even eradicating existing info will be protection enough.
