Thankfully in NJ, we don't pump our own gas.  I sit in my car, hand attendant cash and I am on my way.  Not a fan of pumping gas and until our "powers that be" change it, I will be happy inside my car.

@cookie16.  I know what you mean. I've never pumped gas in my life.

I would never use a debit card, I always pay with cash when getting gas.

@kittyloo. I use my debit card to withdraw cash at the ATM machine, but never for purchases.

I have never used my debit card at the gas pump. No way. 

In fact, I’ve totally stopped using my debit card and don’t miss it at all.

Yes but I run it as a credit card so I don't have to enter my PIN,   Haven't had any problems and we check our bank account and credit card on a daily basis.

I use my debit card all the time.   Although I have heard the recommindations over and over not to use your credit or debit card at the pump, instead pay inside.  Sorry but I find that to be quite an inconvenience.   I have had my debit card compromized a few times and I don't think it was from the gas pump.  The skimming can happen other places as well.

Thankfully my bank refunds the money to our account within 24 hrs.  If their investigation determins that it was our charge they will them take the money out of our account again (we've never thad that happen).
