This is Humboldt. He goes everywhere with me. (not my pic,  I swiped this one) He is a Boyds bear that I had for many years.

I also have a stuffed spider that sits on a high shelf in my bedroom. When I lived with my parents, anytime I saw a spider (I don't like them) I would call for my Dad and he would take care of it for me. When I moved to my first apartment, my Dad gave me the stuffed spider so that I would always know that he would be around to take care of spiders for me. Even though my Dad passed 10 years ago, I like to keep that stuffed spider around to remind me of him.

Holy smokes. Tons. Way more than I should.

In fact, I have a HUGE collection of hand-made artist bears too. Large ones and two cabinets of mini bears. Many are one of a kind, or custom made.

I have loved stuffed animals since I was tiny and I never outgrew it.

Re: Do you own any stuffed animals?

I haven't owned a stuffed animal since I was 10, maybe 11.  I suppose it's no different than any thing else that people choose to collect.  Back in the Beanie Baby craze, I had a dear friend who was obsessed with them.  She was married and had kids and a full life but gradually Beanie Babies took over her life.  She always said she did it with her girls but she didn't.  They didn't care about them.  And then the bottom fell out of that silliness....and she was left with a thousand little stuffed animals.

@house_cat

Does Gracie the cat cuddle with the lambs and sheep, or sit on the giraffe?

Or sleep with you and the sheep?

Re: Do you own any stuffed animals?

i have two that i bought at a flea market in seattle close to 20 years ago.

one is a 8 to 10" steiff bear and the other is a much larger smoky the bear in his complete outfit.

i checked on the steiff a few years ago and he's worth over $700.  i haven't checked on smoky, but it doesn't matter.  i'm not ready to part with either at this time.

I have more than I can count.  I love them and all have names!!  I have many limited edition collectibles but most are just ones that were gifts or that I made eye contact with at some point.  My SO always jokingly says don't look at their eyes or you'll have to buy it and you don't need anymore stinkin' bears!  Some of my favorites are ones made of old mohair sofa.  I also have my first teddy bear that had been restuffed and stitched by my mother and he now has way shorter arms and legs.  He used to growl.  Another childhood one is my floppy ear pink dog called Pinkie.  My mother made her a  poodle skirt just like she made me and my sister.  I've been known to take different ones to bed when I am sick, sad, upset or even really happy I hug my bears and always take one with me if I travel anywhere overnight.   Once when I woke up I found my SO with his arm around one of my bears that had been on the bed.
