DH and I seem to be suckers for them. We're nearly 60 years old and haven't grown out of it yet. One of my husband's favorite gifts from me is a 4.5' tall giraffe, that stands in the corner of our bedroom. I have about six different sheep and lambs who cuddle beside our bedroom fireplace.
I read somewhere that stuffed animals in a married couples' bedroom is a sure sign of dysfunction, but we've been happy together for 35 years, so maybe we're the exception.
I also have to admit, that when he's not around to cuddle with, I've been known to grab one of my fluffier sheep to sleep beside me. I guess that's weird?
Anyway, I was straightening up the bedroom last night and wondering if we are that unusual. Do any of you have stuffed creatures in your home?

After we no longer had a dog , and had decided not to get another , DH & I were at Cracker Barrel and he saw a stuffed dog that was very cute. He sings and dances and is just adorable.DH bought him and told me this is my dog now. He sits on a shelf in our house, has been there for years now. We named him Lou. When we have company with little ones they always play with Lou.

@house_cat I have a stuffed dog that has a winding thing on his back that plays alowetta (don't know the spelling~German song, I think). Anyway, I've had him for over 60 years and can't seem to part with it. He's not displayed in our home, he's put away, but still with me. Probably one tiny bit of happy memory from a very dysfunctional child hood.

I have a few, but none of them are displayed.... I have a fabulous baby seal that my parents bought for me when they were travelling in scandanavia in the early 80s, and a bear that I bought at least 20 years ago. I also have a small elephant and bison that I "adopted" from a wildlife defending organization, as well as a few beanie toys that were gifts. Two of the beanie toys are poodles.... Poodles are the reason that none of my stuffed animals are displayed... if I left them out, they'd become chew toys!
My almost 92 year old mother has two stuffed animals... a poodle (we're poodle people!) and an orangutan. They are on a bookcase in her family room.

Heck yeah! I have my bear that I got when I was three years old, a large Raggedy Ann doll my mom gave me when I turned 21 and a host of others.
And, I can't believe I'm telling people this, preparing myself for the inevitable criticism, I have 5 that sleep with us.
My 58 year old bear and another small bear are two items that I would take with us if we had to evacuate and had to leave the house quickly. For a few different reasons, those two mean the world to me. And I don't have a lot of emotional attachment to many "things".

Yes, I have quite a few cats and dogs mostly in my bedroom on the floor, and sleeping on the spare bed. Then, of course, there are the beanie babies. I was huge into that during the craze, and I still enjoy looking at them, so I have my favorites displayed throughout my condo!

I have a very large collection of really cute beanie babies stored in bags in a chest and no clue what to do with them. Would like to donate them to a children's hospital or something like that but don't know if they're even wanted. Other than that, one bear all gussied up in a pretty dress w/a flowered straw hat and basket of posies hanging from her arm.
